The Lake Lucerne region has 5 stunning mountain peaks offering amazing views of different aspects of the oddly shaped Vierwaldstätersee. 3 are open year round but all 5 are the rage in Summer. Accessibility to each is an experience:
- Two boast the “First Ever in the World”
- One the “Tallest in Europe”
- Most involve taking a boat, train, cable car or some combination
Each peak will surprise and delight visitors with a variety of activities and breathtaking vistas. I have visited these peaks multiple times and it’s hard to pick a favorite. Being a fan of Dragons, however, Mount Pilatus holds a special place in my heart — it’s where Dragons are believe to have lived!
Whereas I highly recommend visiting all of these peaks, I should mention that it can be fairly pricey. SBB and Vierwaldstätersee (Lake Luzern) often have “package deals” so check with them when planning your trip.
Locate and enjoy the stunning vistas of Lake Lucern and, please, share your experiences!
